Fishing Guides Filleting Snapper

by Robert Neff

On September 19, 2013, I greeted the returning Miss Pass-A-Grille at Merry Pier to check out their catch. The four-hour fishing tour had taken tourist into the Gulf of Mexico where they had caught plenty of fish.

On Merry Pier's fish cleaning stand, I watched the fishing guides clean mangrove snapper. Some tourist on the fishing tour took their catch home to cook. Others headed to a local restaurant, where the chef would prepare their catch.
