About Reconnecting with Life
Lessons learned from the ebook soft launch
May 2014: The reviews have been outstanding. Chapter 5 Compassion and Empathy has proven to be the strongest link. However, I am not comfortable with four poems in Chapter 4 Social Commentary. They are Experience of the Eyes, Cry Your Tears For Humanity, Leaving a Legacy and Generations Today Are Numb.
My objective now is to update the four poems and conduct a final review. Then I willl release the hard cover book, update the ebook, and relaunch the marketing plan.
When I returned home to support my widowed mother's fight with breast cancer in 2002, I reevaluated my life's journey and direction. My priorities quickly changed with the realities and limitations of my mother's years as well as her continued worries about her brother in the nursing home. This book explores my life experiences, my intense love of nature and its imagery, and the paths I've taken along the way. There are five chapters: private reflections, personal observations, social commentary, romantic interludes, and compassion and empathy.
My Discovery and Embracement - 5 Stars
I first knew of this writer, Robert Neff, in the capacity as a photographer. This offered invaluable imagery to each and every poem. I highly recommend this book full of incredibly deep emotion, as well as the abundance of passion found at FifthWorldArt.com!
Honest and open - 5 Stars
Finished reading your book last night and enjoyed it very much. There was a great sense of honesty and openness. I especially liked the last chapter, Compassion and Empathy. It is where you really shine. Good job, Rob!
An emotional Journey everyone should travel/strong - 5 Stars
Each chapter unveils the vulnerability and strength of the author but translates to our own experiences easily. Romantic, heartbreaking, biting, funny at times, dark at others. Leaving a Legacy was spot on insightful! Robert shared his responsiveness to compassion, unspoken love, love lost and gained in free verse, written so superbly. The last chapter will give the reader a powerful sense of where this kindness and understanding was born. A rollercoaster of emotions. Thank you, Robert.

From its first utterances to its last, I felt Romanced, loved, angry, sad, then finally, connected & inspired. E'er so small and delicate was the leaf that provided cool soothing shade relief for my burnt hearts longings at a moment when I needed it most. -Drea Crysel , Project Coordinator at NewScience101

PREFACE - How the Concept Came to "Life"
A distant phone call from my widowed mother in 2002 literally changed my world. In her calmest motherly voice, she declared simply: "I have breast cancer." Read the Preface.
